Outfitter Shane Scott

Shane Scott

Hi, I'm Shane Scott, owner and outfitter of Shane Scott Outfitting. I am born and raised in Utah. I grew up hunting the Utah Mountains and turned my passion for the Outdoors into an Outfitting and Hunting Guide Service here in Utah.

I currently work full time as a Firefighter/EMT for the last 7 years, with 20 years experience as a full time police officer. I also volunteer as a firefighter in my hometown.

My wife Carlynn and I have 2 great children. Our home is located in Richfield right in the heart of Utah.

My skills as an outdoorsman, law enforcement firearms instructor and professional help me provide my clients with a great service from the pre drawing consultation phase, to weapon choice, optics choice, to the physical hunt preparation phase. My hunting guides and I then help the client carry out the field operation phase of the hunt until the animal is harvested and recovered back to camp.

For the past 17 years I have been fortunate enough to Outfit and Guide Hunts on many of Utah's best units. At this time Utah offers some of the best big game hunting in the Western United States. With the famous Henry Mountains, Paunsaugunt, San Juan, Monroe, Beaver, Fillmore Pahvant and many trophy units you are in for a great hunting experience if you are lucky enough to draw that coveted tag. I have personally had the opportunity to guide and scout many of Utah's best big game units. I have successfully outfitted over 1,400 hunts since 2007 here in Utah. I have outfitted many clients who have taken world class animals making the all time Boone and Crocket Book.

I have done the hard work of locating and hiring the best professional guides Utah has to offer. They are all Utah natives that are passionate outdoorsmen and accomplished hunters that specialize on the units and animals they hunt.

Shane Scott Outfitting is very flexible. We understand that each client is different and comes with specific individual interests and needs. We take pride in being able to match our pricing to the client's needs and desired hunt operation results.

My guides and staff members are committed to our client's success.

Feel free to contact me at anytime with questions.

I look forward to your success here in Utah with SSO.

Sincerely,

Guide Dustin Burrows

Guide Dustin Burrows

Hi my name is Dustin Burrows. I was born and raised in Southern Utah. Growing up I had the opportunity to have a family that LOVED the outdoors. We did everything that one could think of as long as it was in the mountains.

I grew up hunting archery only. I then began to hunt with other weapons. Those tactics have made me a better hunter with the muzzleloader and rifle.

I fought wildland fire for 9 years, and loved the job a lot. I then got married to an amazing woman, and have 3 beautiful children now. I was fortunate and blessed to have the chance to move to Richfield City Utah in 2014 to work for the local Police Department.

Utah now produces the best quality of wild game of all species. I have had an obsession chasing those species, and I have hunted and helped hunts on the following units. Pine Valley, Zion, Panguitch, Paunsauqunt, and the South West Desert. I have been now spending time on the Monroe, Beaver, Pahvant, and Fishlake since moving to Richfield trying to find the best animals.

I will treat your hunt like it’s my own and I'll help do whatever I can do to harvest the best animal you feel is worth taking!!

Thanks for consideration of Shane Scott Outfitting and hunting guide Dustin Burrows.

Guide Zach Dustin

Guide Zach Dustin

Zach grew up in Utah, spending every free chance he got on the mountain. From day 1 in a car seat calling coyotes with dad, to gaining his own passion for hunting, he has pursued his childhood dreams to this day. Zach has spent his whole life hunting for himself as well as helping friends and family on hunts.

He is a licensed guide in Utah and Alaska. He spent much of his time before the age of 18 being a spotter and packer for various friends, hunters, and outfitters. After returning home from a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he chased his childhood dreams of guiding in Alaska. He now guides Brown Bear, Dall Sheep, Caribou, and Wolf in Alaska along with guiding in Utah. In Utah he has guided or hunted nearly every species. Among his favorites are Mountain Lion, Black Bear, Mule Deer, and Elk. Zach will be hunting whatever animal the season calls for himself if he is not guiding or helping a friend.

During the winter months, Zach attends Utah State University finishing his degree in Wildlife Biology and Fisheries. For Zach there is nothing better than being on the highest peak, as far as he can get from civilization. Spending time with his family especially while hunting and riding horses is second to none of his favorite things to do. When he is not hunting you will be sure to find him spending time with family.

Guide Kent Johnson

Guide Kent Johnson

I have hunted in Utah almost exclusively for most of my life. Hunting with family and friends from the time I could walk. During school, I would get class work ahead so as not to miss hunting deer and elk with my father. I have only hunted outside of Utah a couple of times; for elk in Colorado and Whitetail in Minnesota. Throughout these experiences I have developed a great love for the outdoors and the game animals we pursue.

I took my first big game animal( a mule deer buck) well over thirty years ago. In the ensuing years I have taken and assisted others in taking numerous deer and elk, pronghorn, and Rocky Mountain bighorn. Most of my hunting experience in Utah has been in the Book Cliffs and La Sal Mtns. I have also hunted a little in the Blue Mtns, Nine Mile, San Rafael, and North Manti. I have also been learning a little more about the Henry Mountains. Spending some weekends there in the last year. I thoroughly enjoy hunting all of the game Utah has to offer

I have lived in Utah for over 40 years now. I grew up hiking and hunting our mountains truly understanding them throughout their various seasons and climates. With that I developed a great knowledge of our animals, their habitat and where they live wether pursued or not.

I have worked for Shane Scott for nearly 12 years now and as a retired Army Command Sergeant Major and 28 years of guiding experience, I can tell you Shane is the epitome of a true professional. I could not ask for a better person to work for.

I guide because I flat out love it. I find animals because I know them and my eyesight is second to none. Combined with military tactics and a common sense way of thinking, I sustain a very high rate of hunting success.

My clients are people I care about and I continue to have a relationship with them. We stay in contact on a regular basis and many hunt with me year after year.

I can guide anywhere. The areas I know the best are as follow: Vernon/West Desert, Wasatch, Fish Lake, San Juan Elk Ridge, Beaver, Paunsaugunt, Pahvant and Mt Dutton. I specialize in Deer, Elk, Mountain Goat, Antelope and Turkey.

Guide Kyler Wheeler

Guide Kyler Wheeler

Hi, I'm Kyler Wheeler. I was born and raised in Sanpete county. I have always loved the outdoors and hunting big game. I enjoy hunting deer and elk but my passion is hunting lion and bear with hounds. There is nothing better than watching a pack of well trained hounds trail a lion through tough conditions and putting it up a tree or listening to them work together to put a bear up the tree. When i'm not with my family I am constantly working my dogs to make them better. I have put a lot of time and effort into my dogs and I am confident that when I turn out on a track I will be walking to a tree. My dogs consistently catch game in the toughest conditions. At a young age my dad taught me to never give up and having a no quit attitude has made me successful at doing what I love. I am willing to work hard and put the time in for my clients so they can have a successful and memorable hunt.
